This kit is a terrific simple introduction to fabric screen-printing. This kit is entertaining and simple to use and consists of the essentials for fabric screen printing - DIAZO photo emulsion, drawing fluid and/or screen filler process. Build your own distinctive art for printing on t-shirts and other fabric products. Contains a 10-inch-by-14-inch screen frame, 9-inch plastic squeegee, 3 jars of 4-ounce fabric Ink (Black, Red, Yellow), 4-ounce screen filler, four-ounce drawing fluid, 4-ounce Diazo photo emulsion, four-ounce Diazo photo emulsion remover, .five-gram Diazo sensitizer, 6 round brush and instruction booklet. The starter kits Speedball produces have all you require to screen print items pretty readily. The instructions are uncomplicated (as well simple) and all the solutions are function-horse excellent, which means that they are not fancy and can take some adaptation but function as they should. This kit gets 3 stars simply because I recieved both the original kit and the replacement kit damaged due to rather poor packaging on Speddball's element. The first kit had the photo-sensatizer (which is required to make the emulsion 'cook' when exposed to light, permitting you to develop a stencil) open and each dry and spilled down its side. One of the inks had cracked and started out to leak but that was minor. The worst of it was that the screen filler jar was open and spilled over everything (such as the screen) esesntially creating the kit useless. The second kit had minor issues with the sensatizer (which I decided not to use since I ordered a separate emulsion kit anyway) and the paintbrush had its cover put on incorrect, pinning about a fifth of the bristles to the side of the deal with. I located this to be fantastic sufficient and have general enjoyed applying the kit. the polyester in the screen is kind of low cost though, and if not taken care of very nicely it will get started to haze up and will take on a bit of the ink every printing utilizes, leaving shadow pictures in the screen. The screen is also beginning to sag soon after only 5 prints or so, and will have to be tightened soon. I wouldn't commence a business enterprise with this, but for teaching the fundamentals it works effectively, if you get it devoid of damage.
I bought this just to run some shirts for buddies band. It is just fundamentals to start off or run tiny production line. Screen clogged generally so had to rinse about every single 5-7 shirts. Some other products will be required so do not count on to start out printing perfect out of the box.
